twenty-ten: This is gonna be a ride

Happy New Year everyone.

This year has gone by so quickly.  We say that about all of the years, right?  Well, in reflection, it has been a fine year, personally.  I have really enjoyed 2009.  But, what about what is going on globally?  It feels like we are in a global state of limbo.  Everyone seems to be waiting for the other shoe to drop.   Does it feel that way to you?  I think while the bankers are waiting for housing prices to stabilize, the real estate agents are waiting for the bankers to release some money.   At the same time that people are waiting for the government to “fix” the “health-care problem”, the “health-care professionals” are waiting for the government to “fix” the “people getting sick” problem.   It feels as if we are finally about to hit the “catch-22” fulcrum, at least I hope we are, and move on to the downward slope of reality fixing all of this.

One can not consume more than one produces for very long.  This goes for individuals and societies.  The American society is guilty of this on both a micro and macro level and has been for about 100 years now.  I have a feeling that 2010 will be the year where we begin to find some balance.  It will be painful, but rewarding, I think.

I’m looking forward to everything this new year brings.   January will be an opportunity for small business everywhere to seek out new opportunities to help.   I have my health and family.  I’m eagerly anticipating the work 2010 will bring.

Happy New Year Everyone!

  1. Hey Jim, Cool Site, good idea to separate our rants. I am in the process of doing the same. Looking forward to your posts on your “reality” vs mysticism. being an entp, i think materialism vs mysticism may be a less judgmental title or maybe “visible reality” would be better, but than again, if you would have named it that i may not have commented……
